Job Description:
- The Senior Collections Specialist (Collections Compliance Specialist) is responsible for managing special, complex collection accounts. These special handling accounts include bankruptcies, motor vehicle accident, probate, workman's comp, and attorney represented accounts
- Works accounts requiring special handling to mitigate regulatory, legal and reputational risk to our clients and company
- Cases will be prioritized based on timeliness (probate filing, insurance filing etc.)
- Resolve cases by full collection or determining next steps such as consulting with legal collections attorney or other avenues
- Work with legal counsel and legal collections firm to address legal or compliance concerns, primary point of contact for outside attorney's related to special handling accounts
- Create and maintain policies, procedures and standard work relating to special handling accounts and participate in applicable compliance educational learnings to stay current on industry standards and requirements
- Create and maintain special handling collections reporting process
- Partner with internal leadership team to create and maintain policies and procedures as needed
- Service as the point of contact for all communication from attorneys regarding special handling accounts
- Provide training and feedback to collections team as needed
Must Have:
- 2-5 years collections experience and one of the following experiences (worked with workman's compensation, attorneys, judges, or probate).
- Must be able to work with judges, attorney and other professional people without being intimidated.
- Healthcare or medical collections, highly preferred
60 days of onsite training in Brooklyn Center. Will train with a Sr. Collector, Team Lead, or Supervisor.
- Will be remote after training with occasional days in office for team days.
- Equipment will be provided when transitioning to working from home.
- Monday - Friday; 8 AM - 4:30 PM
